2.60% APY Highest CD Rates for Security Service Federal Credit Union 3-Year CDs

After decreasing their 15 month certificate of deposit’s rate, the Security Service Federal Credit Union put a premium new CD out. It is a 36-month certificate of deposit with an APY that rivals the highest CD rates out there. Check out the following table to see what CDs can possibly fit your banking needs and also check them against current cd rates:

Annual Percentage Yield Rate Tier

2.60%   $500 – $25,000

2.65%   $25,000 – $50,000

2.70%   $50,000 – $100,000

2.75%   $100,000+

The special 15 month CD which requires a $100,000 balance now only has a 1.75% APY. It was once set at 2.00% before August 2010. However, interested investors still have the choices in the 7-year and 5-year certificates of deposit which boast of the best CD rates of 3.70% APY and 3.10% APY respectively. These interest levels are also present in normal CDs and Individual Retirement Account CDs.

Prospective depositors can read up more on the CDs by checking the  Security Service Federal Credit Union’ disclosure, particularly in the sections which talk about the share certificate. Reading this document will enlighten anyone about the policies surrounding these CDs like the penalties for early withdrawal. Members who withdraw money early will incur as much as half a year’s interest for CDs which have periods of 1 to 5 years.  For CDs that go past the 5 year benchmark, penalties are normally 1 year’s worth of interest.
