3.00% Savings interest rates with Wachovia Bank

Wachovia Bank which integrated with Wells Fargo offers a high yield savings account called Way2Save. The program gives 3.0% APY at the moment where you have the opportunity to turn your regular everyday purchases to automatic high interest savings account.

The bank will transfer $1 from your existing Wachovia checking account into your savings account when you use the check card to make purchases, pay your bills online, or when you set up automatic payments to debit your checking account.  Take note that online bills payment that post as paper checks on your account will not qualify for the $1 transfer.

The qualified transactions for the savings account are totalled each day and transferred to the savings account in a single transaction. You will be able to check the transferred funds on the next business day.

Interested consumers can open the high yield savings account using the form on the bank’s website. You need an existing Wachovia Checking account and a Wachovia Check Card to set up the Way2Save savings account. You do not need any initial deposits for this money in the bank opportunity and also there are no set minimum balance requirements.

You can also set up a recurring transfer or automatic transfer to your savings account. You can transfer as much as $100 every month. Setting this up is very easy. You can do it by dropping by a Wachovia branch or by calling 1800-922-4684.

With regard to fees, the monthly service fee of $5 is waived for the first 12 months of the account and the succeeding months when you have qualified transactions. The teller withdrawal fee is waived for the first three transactions and $3 for every transaction after. Person to person transfer fees are waived as well as the closing fee of the account.
